Hello, October! With the fall season now in full swing, keep reading to learn more about all the sweet things to do this month in Hershey, PA.

Halloween at Hersheypark amusement park is here with tricks and treats, limited-time sweets and front-row coaster seats every weekend this month! Hersheypark is open for its family-friendly Hersheypark Halloween event and new, separately ticketed Dark Nights frightfully immersive haunt experience on weekends through Oct. 30, with Fridays added to the schedule starting Oct. 14.

Hersheypark Halloween features thrills on 50 rides and attractions (weather permitting), lights-out coaster rides during the last hour of operation, Treatville trick-or-treat trail for children 12 and under, a nightly Character Glow Dance Party, exclusive sweet treats and savory eats, and more. As an expansion of Hersheypark Halloween, Dark Nights spreads its shadows over the Hersheypark landscape every evening, unearthing four spine-tingling haunted houses and three scare zones as part of integrated thrill experiences guests can only find in Hersheypark.

Dark Nights runs from 6-11 p.m. on Saturdays (and Fridays starting Oct. 14) and 6-10 p.m. on Sundays. During Dark Nights, midways transform from enchanting to unnerving and once-familiar spaces mutate into chilling explorations of the unknown. Check out the Know Before You Go Guide to Dark Nights.

A general admission ticket to Hersheypark Halloween is required for entry throughout the fall season. Dark Nights haunted houses access is not included with a general Hersheypark admission ticket and must be purchased separately or as part of a bundle.

The culinary team at The Bears’ Den at Hershey Lodge is celebrating the season with a rotating dinner menu of Oktoberfest-inspired dishes alongside their regular menu of classic American fare. From 4-11 p.m. daily through Sunday, Oct. 9, guests can enjoy specials ranging from Crispy Potato Cakes to a Pork Schnitzel Sandwich to Beer Braised Bratwurst in the fun hockey-rink atmosphere modeled after our hometown hockey team, the Hershey Bears. Plus, make sure to ask your server about the perfect beer pairings!

ZooAmerica North American Wildlife Park is open daily this month with hours varying by day. Starting Oct. 14, ZooAmerica will offer its popular Creatures Of The Night flashlight tour for guests to can see the wild and fascinating animal activity that only happens after the sun sets.

ZooAmerica will be open extended hours for Creatures Of The Night until 9 p.m. on Oct. 14-16, 21-23 and 28-30. This is the only time of year ZooAmerica is open after dark, so guests of all ages are encouraged to bring a flashlight and curiosity for an exploration into the nighttime habits of the nocturnal North American animals.

Creatures Of The Night is included in the one-price admission to Hersheypark Halloween when accessing the Zoo from the bridge inside Hersheypark during posted Park hours. Separate admission is also available online or at the ZooAmerica admissions building.

The Hershey Bears drop the puck on the 2022-23 season this month! The Bears, the oldest and most decorated team in the American Hockey League, open the club’s 85th anniversary season on Saturday, Oct. 15 at GIANT Center at 7 p.m. The Bears, under new head coach Todd Nelson, host the Utica Comets that evening and the first 8,000 fans receive a magnet schedule, courtesy of PNC Bank. Prior to the game, the club will host a Home Opener Red Carpet Event featuring a chance to meet the new team.

Tickets are available at HersheyBears.com, for a limited time, receive a FREE ticket for kids 12 and younger with the purchase of a regular admission ticket when you buy online. Exclusions apply, and the offer ends Oct. 14.

Grab a stool at the bar top from 4-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 2-4 p.m. Sunday to enjoy a refreshed happy hour menu including half off all appetizers, $5 house wines (6 ounces), $3 draft beers (exceptions may apply), plus daily drink features. Happy Hour is here to stay this season! Guests seated at the Carrousel Bar or outdoor patio can enjoy Happy Hour every Monday through Thursday from 4-6 p.m. with discounts on select appetizers, $8 featured cocktails and 1/2 off draft beers and house wines.

The Chocolatier also hosts Character dining from 5-7 p.m. on Thursdays in October. Young guests can enjoy a FREE kid's dessert with the purchase of a kid's entrée when visiting during this dining experience. Reservations are highly encouraged with availability listed here.
